Every human endeavour is shaped and conditioned by the context out of which it emerged. This course introduces students to and covers the historical setting and contexts of biblical texts. Besides, it identifies the literary forms and types of writings - poem, song, myths, parables, short sayings, prophecy, wisdom saying, proverbs - that shape the content and message of the biblical texts.

This course is designed as an introduction to pastoral approaches utilized in caring for those who are sick as well as those who are homebound. The course will give focus to the basic study and practices of pastoral care, while reflecting contextually on the latest developments of ministry.

This course is designed as an Introduction to Anglican origins and development and an examination of some of the main influences in the development of Anglicanism in the Church of England.

This course is designed as a brief survey of the history of the Church from its birth as a small Jewish sect to its acceptance and pre-eminence among the religions within the Roman Empire by the 4th century C.E. Students will be facilitated towards understanding of the pivotal factors which shaped the church, the dynamics of Christian leadership and the development and understanding of the faith which inspired and led to the development and spread of the early church. In addition, students will be encouraged to reflect on how experiences within the early church may be applied to issues facing the church today.
