This course is designed as a brief survey of the history of the Church from its birth as a small Jewish sect to its acceptance and pre-eminence among the religions within the Roman Empire by the 4th century C.E. Students will be facilitated towards understanding of the pivotal factors which shaped the church, the dynamics of Christian leadership and the development and understanding of the faith which inspired and led to the development and spread of the early church. In addition, students will be encouraged to reflect on how experiences within the early church may be applied to issues facing the church today.
