Introduction to the Bible

Every human endeavour is shaped and conditioned by the context out of which it emerged. This course introduces students to and covers the historical setting and contexts of biblical texts. Besides, it identifies the literary forms and types of writings - poem, song, myths, parables, short sayings, prophecy, wisdom saying, proverbs - that shape the content and message of the biblical texts.
